The actress, who found fame from her role of Emily Shadwick in soap opera Brookside, was recently pictured looking out of shape as she was put through her paces by a military-trained drill instructor on a beach in Norfolk, where she is attending a boot camp. She gave birth to her son Bobby six months ago, but has since struggled to lose the pounds she gained throughout her pregnancy.Ellison, 27, was only able to kick start her fitness regime of Pilates, running and boxing six weeks after the birth due to undergoing a caesarean.

The combination of the breathing exercises and flowing, precise movements of Pilates centres on the abdomen, hips, lower back and buttocks, making it an ideal exercise for new mums looking to regain their figure. The actress is hoping to shape up for her next run in Calendar Girls, where she plays Miss September. She has already performed to packed theatres in Cardiff, where she had to rely upon a couple of cream buns to protect her modesty.

On Tuesday, July 27, Ellison took off her shirt in the opening night of new production of "Calendar Girl" at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff. Playing trophy wife Celia aka Miss September in the touring production, Ellison is seen having a pair of strategically placed buns to cover her breasts.

The production will take her, who brings her son along with her, to Llandudno, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh and Liverpool over the next two months.

Ellison revealed that when she first accepted the role, she never thought that it would involve disrobing. "I thought I was playing the make-upartist, who doesn't strip. It turns out I've got a lead role - and I'm as naked as everyone else," Ellison said as quoted by Daily Mail.

As for the nude scene, she shared, "It's a bit scary but I'm not nervous about it." Jennifer Ellison has previously posed fully naked along with her "Calendar Girl" co-stars Elaine C Smith, Ruth Madoc, Denise Black, Lisa Riley, Jean Boht and Julia Hills in a promotional photo for the production. The shot shows Ellison sitting in front of a piano with the rest of the show's cast, who are all in their birthday suits.

Jennifer Ellison confidently shows off her new post-baby body - the result of 'good old-fashioned' diet and exercise. The former Brookside star, who gave birth to baby Bobby in February, ballooned by an incredible five dress sizes during pregnancy, going from a size 8 to size 18. But five months on, after eating healthily and exercising for four months, the 27-year-old actress has managed to shed three stone.She says she is delighted with the results and is now nearly back to her original size.

Speaking to this week's Closer magazine, she said: 'I was a size 8 when I fell pregnant and a size 18 after – I just ballooned. I ate what I wanted and didn’t exercise, so of course I put on weight. I put on 4st. I was like a hippo!' 'I’ve lost 3st thanks to my Closer diet and workouts – and I feel great,' Jennifer added, who’s now 10st and a size 10-12. 'Even though I’ve posed in all sorts of men’s mags in the past, I’ve never felt really proud of my body until now because I’ve never had to work to make it look good. 'I lost this weight the old-fashioned way – a healthy diet and exercise.
