Jennifer Ellison impacts weight pundits: Jennifer Ellison has responded angrily to newspaper and magazine comments about her baby weight. The former Brookside actress, who gave birth to her first son Bobby earlier this year, claimed that the focus on her size was "unfair".

"I always said that I wanted to look after my baby first and foremost," she told DS. "And I put so much weight on, I think it was about four stone, losing that was a very difficult process.

"It was hard... really hard work. And people expected me to get back in shape in two days and that's not what happened. I kind of got a lot of negative press about it and I don't think that's the right message to be sending out there to new young mums."The 26-year-old is planning to release a fitness DVD about losing baby weight later this year. Meanwhile, Ellison is also starring in Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates at the Regent Theatre in Stoke-On-Trent from December 9 to January 9.
