Jennifer Ellison vows to lose considerably more weight in 2011 through rigorous diet and practice regime: She gained over four stone when she was pregnant with son Bobby. But Jennifer Ellison is starting the New Year in style, judging by pictures of her working out with a personal trainer in Liverpool. The former Brookside actress appeared to be in the zone as she started a rigorous exercise regime with her personal trainer.

Wearing an all-white tracksuit and trainers, Jennifer huffed and puffed her way through an outside jog and stretches in the park. The 27-year-old has so far lost a staggering three-and-a-half stone through sticking to her fitness regime and following a healthy eating plan with Liverpool-based company All About Weight, who provide customers with nutritious 'Mealpaks' to eat.

She has just half a stone more to lose before she returns to her pre-baby weight and, despite hoping she would be back to her best for Christmas, Jennifer appears determined to shed the last seven pounds at the beginning of 2011.

Jennifer described herself as a 'hippo' when she was expecting, and went from a size eight to an 18 during her pregnancy. She was also encouraged to lose weight when she secured a role in the stage version of Calendar Girls. And Jennifer will reprise her role as Celia in the 2011 tour of the show, starting in Bristol on 26th January.

However, Jennifer admitted when she first accepted the part, she thought she had one of the only female roles which didn't involve disrobing. She said: 'I thought I was playing the make-up artist, who doesn't strip. It turns out I've got a lead role - and I'm as naked as everyone else.'Talking about going nude, she explained: 'It's a bit scary but I'm not nervous about it.'
