She'll be spending a lot of time over the next few months practising her moves on the ice rink. But unfrozen water proved to be more appealing for Jennifer Ellison today as she took some time out of Dancing On Ice training to spend some time fishing with her main men. The actress was snapped out on a boat in Liverpool today with her husband Robbie Tickle and their 22-month-old son Bobby.
She was seen casting her rod out from the small boat as her son watched carefully. And despite the unglamorous vessel she found herself in, Jennifer still managed to look very chic in black leggings, black wellies, a crisp white shirt and blue padded bodywarmer. Jennifer, 28, was enjoying some valuable time with her two boys before her training starts for Dancing On Ice.
She has just finished her run in Calendar Girls, which has been touring the UK and had its last night of 2011 at the Richmond Theatre in London last week. It returns at the end of January to the Birmingham Hippodrome but Jennifer will not be among the cast as she will be getting her skates on for the ITV show. Jennifer has already been seen practising her blade action on the ice as she was given some training by ice skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
Jennifer has also been busy promoting her new workout DVD, called Fat Buster Workout, which goes on sale on Boxing Day. The former Brookside actress lost five stone and dropped five dress sizes as a result of overhauling her diet and sticking to a strict exercise regime. Jennifer, who stands at 5ft 7in, said she ballooned from a size 8 to 18 during her pregnancy and said she struggled to lose the weight afterwards.
She lost some weight last year after enrolling at boot camp in preparation for her nude scenes in the touring production of Calendar Girls. Reflecting on her weight gain, she said: 'I got huge. I looked like a hippo.'I had absolutely no idea how I had ballooned during my pregnancy. All I thought about was eating plenty of food to keep my baby healthy. 'I was pregnant at the same time as Coleen Rooney and Denise Van Outen. Denise seemed to snap straight back into her normal clothes and I remember looking at Coleen and thinking I was always much tinier than her and now she was smaller than me.'
