The blades are well and truly out on the new series of Dancing On Ice, with reports suggesting some contestants on the show are 'jealous' of the favouritism towards Jennifer Ellison. According to The Mirror, a row has erupted after some of Ellison's fellow celebrities and crew members claim that the ex-Brookside actress is getting 'preferential treatment.'Jennifer has already threatened to quit the ITV show after her partner Dan Whiston suffered a hamstring tear - leaving Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter to replace her on last Sunday's show (8th January).
Ellison is now due to take to the ice this weekend, but Sugababes singer Heidi Range was unable to switch performance days unlike Ellison, after her skating partner Sylvain was forced to pull out with an injury. A source told the newspaper: "Jennifer has a big following. Bosses believe she will be a major draw and seem determined to do all they can to keep her in.
“As a result they insisted Jennifer be given a bonus rest week and Jorgie kindly offered to swap weeks. But when Heidi’s partner Sylvain pulled out through injury, she requested an extra week to bond with her new pro skater Andrei – and was denied permission."The mole added: “Jennifer is very much ITV’s golden girl and it’s not sitting well with everyone else.”An ITV insider has since played down the rumours, stating: “All the contestants appreciate the delay to Jen’s performance was unavoidable because of an injury to her partner and there is no ill feeling.”
